In the world of Chainsaw Man, devil hybrids like Denji and Quanxi are highly unusual occurrences that can only happen when a devil fuses with a human. Hybrids, in contrast to friends, who can appear identical at first glance, retain their human appearance and consciousness until activated, such as when Denji pulls the draw chord in his chest. At this point, he transforms into a human devil.
Denji is always regarded as the most potent hybrid, with Quanxi close behind. On the other hand, the devil hunter turned assassin has far more combat experience and raw strength. Quanxi’s devotion to her girlfriends is the only thing keeping her from the top rank.
The “International Assassin’s” arc features Quanxi’s introduction and subsequent death; her involvement in the story is brief but damaging. She reached closer to Denji than any other assassin in a matter of seconds and at an extraordinary rate of speed, beheading many of the puppets that Public Safety was struggling to combat. She defeated the group guarding Denji, which included Aki, Angel, Yoshida, Kusakabe, and others, cementing her status as a formidable foe. Again demonstrating her greater strength over her fellow hybrid, Quanxi defeated Kishibe, Denji’s mentor, in hand-to-hand fighting, something Denji couldn’t manage even with Power’s help.
Furthermore, Quanxi’s experience dramatically outweighs that of Denji’s. Quanxi, who appears much younger than her 50 years, is actually renowned as the first devil hunter and would easily defeat Denji in a fight. She is an expert assassin who has spent her entire life-fighting demons. Without resorting to the strength of her hybrid form, she could sneak up on and behead Denji before he realized she was there. While Quanxi remained human throughout the arc and dominated the battlefield in hybrid form, Denji barely survived due to his inexperience. Although Denji’s mixed strength is formidable, Quanxi’s assassin background and proven track record in battle make her the superior fighter.
Quanxi is the superior hybrid, yet she can’t reach the pinnacle because of one flaw. The assassin has four best buddies that she cares deeply about. The four friends, Pingtsi, Long, Cosmo, and Tsugihagi, are Quanxi’s top priority and her downfall. While Quanxi was winning the battle, Makima’s entrance spelled doom, and she quickly surrendered, pleading for the lives of her allies.
She only took this stance because she needed to safeguard her demon pals from the ruthless Makima’s torture and murder. Taking advantage of the situation, the Public Safety superior severed the heads of Quanxi and his surviving partners. Quanxi is the most potent hybrid, yet she never became the cold-blooded killer she could have been because of her admirable protective attitude toward her enemies. When fighting alongside her allies, she is unbeatable.
This isn’t to argue that Denji is heartless; he probably would take the same precautions to safeguard a lover. Even though the devil hunter may find love again, he is currently single, making Chainsaw Man the superior hybrid.
