One Piece: How Does an Awakened Zoan Look?

Posted on

Since Chapter 1072 has established a pattern among Awakened Zoans, it should be simpler to determine which older characters are Awakened Zoans and which are not.

The definition of an “Awakened Zoan” has been the subject of discussion among One Piece fans for some time now. Many people have debated whether or not certain characters, such as Chopper or Kaid, had already been awakened, but it simply wasn’t made explicit in the story. On the other hand, there may now be a more reliable method to discern which Zoans have been woken.

The Egghead Arc was responsible for introducing two new characters who both possessed awoken Devil Fruits. The first person to enter was Rob Lucci, who brought his Leopard Cat-Cat Fruit Model. The second competitor was Kaku, who presented his Ox-Ox Fruit Model as a Giraffe. A pattern emerges when the significant visual similarities of their awoken Devil Fruits are paired with those of Luffy’s.

What are the Identifiable Traits of a Zoan That Has Awakened?

Luffy was the first of these three to publicly display their waking. When he activated the full potential of the Human-Human Fruit Model: Nika had a profound transformation that he later came to refer to as his “Gear Five” state. The steam hagoromo that surrounded his body also took on this aspect when he assumed the form of the Sun God, although this could be considered a carryover from his Gear Four Snakeman form. This caused his hair to transform into wispy white flames with a little swirl pattern. The color of his attire changed to white in a few spots as well. At the time, it was difficult to determine whether these shifts were unique to Luffy’s waking or applied to other awakened Zoans.

One Piece Chapter 1069: Lucci made his debut as an Awakened Zoan, and it was immediately apparent that this form shared a lot of similarities with Luffy’s Awakened form. Lucci was also endowed with hair that resembled flames and a hagoromo that featured a pattern quite similar to that; the only difference is that Lucci’s hair and hagoromo are black. However, although these forms appeared to be similar in certain respects, this was nothing more than a coincidence at the time.

When Kaku displayed his awakening in Chapter 1072, “The Weight of Memory,” there appeared to be more to Lucci’s similarity to Luffy. The chapter was titled “The Weight of Memory.” Like Lucci, Kaku had a black, whirling, flamelike haircut and hagoromo. If this happened again, it could have just been a coincidence, but if it happened three times, it should show a pattern.

The Jailer Beasts of Impel Down are the only other case of awakened zones that have been confirmed to exist in this series; nonetheless, this explanation does not account for them. Even though all of these Zoans have awakened, not a single one has any of the characteristics shared by Luffy, Lucci, or Kaku. They were most noticeably taken over in mind and body by their Devil Fruits; therefore, they share certain parallels regarding appearance, physical ability, and mental condition. However, they do have some differences from one another. The Jailer Beasts may symbolize an imperfect awakening, while Luffy, Lucci, and Kaku’s shapes illustrate what a genuine awakening should look like.

Who Are the People Who Have the Greatest Chance of Becoming Awakened Zoans?

Assuming that Luffy, Lucci, and Kaku are representative of the perfect Devil Fruit that has been awakened, this gives a better indication of which Zoans throughout the series have and have not awakened their Devil Fruits. [Citation needed] This should indicate that most Awakened Zoans, if not all, have hair that resembles flames and some kind of hagoromo around their body. If they don’t have any of these characteristics, it’s a red flag that they need to be appropriately woken, and the likelihood of this happening drops significantly.

It was widely believed that Chopper’s Monster Point represented his own realization of his true potential. Nevertheless, this form cannot support this view because it lacks both hair and hagoromo. When considering the trade of thought for brute power, it’s more comparable to the crude waking of the Jailer creatures; nevertheless, this wouldn’t explain how he finally learned to think in that form. It is possible that Chopper has yet to have a full awakening, but it is also feasible that he will achieve one during the Final Saga.

There is also the possibility that none of the Beast Pirates, including Kaid, suffered an awakening during their time on the ship. The fact that there isn’t even a single awakened Zoan amid an entire crew of them is something that many fans find hard to believe and has been the subject of a lot of heated debate among them. Regardless, the fact that none of the characteristics associated with an Awakened Zoan were present in any Beast Pirates must indicate that they could only complete the task.

It’s possible that Yamato was the one who came the closest to becoming an Awakened Zoan. In both her Hybrid Form and her Beast Form, she sported hair that was tangled and wavy, as well as a hagoromo. However, she may have just encountered a situation in which her transformations share traits of an Awakened Zoan but do not reflect the genuine article; this would be similar to what occurred with Luffy’s Gear Four forms. After all, the kuchi no Makami is the Guardian Deity of Wano; therefore, it is only natural for it to bear the aspect of a god, given its role in the world.

How Simple Is It to Identify an Awakened Zoan?

Considering all of these factors, it may take more work to determine who among the Zoans is an Awakened Zoan and who is not. A wide variety of zones each exhibit their own unique set of properties, any and all of which have the potential to be linked to awakening. None, all, or none of the leading possibilities may be unconfirmed Awakened Zoans.

Having said that, it appears that the Egghead Arc has provided spectators with a lot better sense of what to keep an eye out for. If someone has properly awakened their Zoan Fruit, they should have some qualities similar to those of Luffy, Lucci, and Kaku. If they do, this may indicate that they have yet to reach their full potential regarding Devil Fruits. This may show that even those who haven’t been awakened yet still have a lot of promise, both in terms of their power and their role in the plot.
