Chapter 1076 of One Piece, “Old Friends,” has given us new information that should help us figure out who is behind the Egghead.
Fans of One Piece have been trying to figure out how to solve the mystery. Someone locked the Straw Hat Pirates, the Vegapunks, and a few others in Egghead’s labor phase and sent the Seraphim on a rampage. Shaka, a Vegapunk, says that one of the Vegapunks did it, but the facts need to be clearer to say who did it.
“Old Friends,” Chapter 1076, has helped clear up a few things. It has given us more information about the case and made it easier to figure out what happened. Now that we have more information, it’s easier to figure out what’s going on and come to the correct conclusions.

This chapter first confirms how important it is that the CP agents on Egghead have gone missing. This was discussed in Chapter 1068, “A Genius’s Dream,” but no one knew what it meant. Pythagoras said in Vegapunk that he didn’t know about the ships leaving Future Island, but that could be because he wanted to keep the world government from discovering his secret research projects. Chapter 1076 shows that the missing people are honest and have something to do with the case.
This also shows that the traitor has been working for at least two months. After Sea Beast Weapons left port, they sank a CP ship. The survivors were then taken to the lab phase, where they were kept even though they were almost dead. The next CP ship that came to look into the disappearance had the same thing happen. This cycle continued until all the agents from CP5, CP7, and CP8 were caught.
This two-month gap seems like the current crisis was planned in advance. This shows that an outside force like St. Jaygarcia Saturn or Caribou didn’t cause this crisis because they wouldn’t have had this much time to prepare. Someone who has used Egghead in the last two months must be to blame. In other words, Shaka is right in thinking that it must be one of the Vegapunks.
Stella, Dr. Vegapunk’s main ship, is not the traitor, as shown in Chapter 1076. He has not been seen because CP agents have locked him up in the same place. This is really why no one has seen him. Any ideas that he was the traitor or set up a complicated plan to catch the straw hats are also false. Someone on one of the satellites must have done it.

Who did it could also be shown by Nami’s screams that can’t be seen. She was last seen with Brook and Vegapunk Edison on the third floor of Building A at the Labophase. Zoro thought that one of the Seraphim was attacking her, which is possible since S-current Shark’s location is still unknown. But it seems odd that Edison still needs to try to stop the Seraph like the other Vegapunks. The group could have found S-Shark and had Edison tell him to attack Nami and Brook.
In any case, much has been said about the case in this chapter. It answered a lot of questions, took at least one person off the list of possible suspects, and may have even given another hint about who the real criminal is. Now, everyone can take another step toward figuring out what is happening with Egghead.
