Many hypotheses have evolved regarding the content of this chapter. One of the hypotheses concerning the debate in this chapter is why Franky is not wholly petrified. In the previous chapter, Franky’s gang was seen to have been vanquished by Seraphim S-Snake.
It is known that Usopp and Lilith were petrified after being struck by the Mero Mero no Mi. Pythagoras can be seen bursting after being assaulted by the Seraphim S-Snake. A Seraphim S-Snake additionally struck Franky.
Yet, Franky’s body parts were not completely petrified. The left arm and a portion of his face can be seen to be unharmed and movable. Franky’s earlier assault likely caused this ailment.
Franky utilized Lilith’s seawater-filled gun bubble to strike Seraphim S-Snake. Franky’s body is believed to have absorbed the seawater contained within the bubble. This is why Franky’s body is only partially petrified.
